This One's For You, Kevin!

We all remember the Lego masterpieces that Kevin loved to make back in the day. I'm sure he is just biding his time until he can buy a set of Legos for a child of his own - mostly so that he can play with them again! Well, the wait is over. In the ultimate time wasting program I have seen since the pointless Sims series, Lego has released the Lego Digital Designer!!!

That's right, this 100% free program allows you to create virtual Lego masterpieces. No small parts strewn around the house, no big boxes of odd Legos cluttering up the closet, and no lame creations displayed on the shelf. Don't worry, the complete waste of time is intact! This program is like a graphical interface that allows you to select Legos, drag-and-drop them together, and even use preset basic templates. Lego was even sneaky enough to provide direct links to order real Lego components to duplicate your virtual creation.

Come on Kevin, you know you want it. Download it HERE and kiss the office productivity goodbye!

This thing is total bullshit!

Here are my reasons why:
1) Legos were fun because you had limited resources (blocks) available to make something from your imagination. There are too many blocks to choose from in this program, and it makes building things more like a CAD-class than actual lego-building.

2) Any serious lego-builder knows that the legos you own are like the mashers for a marbler, or your deck of cards for a "Magic! The Gathering" player. Owning the legos was like high-school - you could judge how cool you are by what blocks you own and how big your stash was. In essence, the legos you own are your credentials, and this program means everyone is the same!

3) You have to be about 22 years-old with an IT degree to make this program work.

4) This program tells you how to build things like airplanes, trains, and cars. The objects in the directions were fun to build only the first time, then the directions got thrown away and it was never built again.

6) Legos are about sitting in a room by yourself, listening to crappy music, working repetive motions with yours hands, and culminating in something that was better in the idea than the reality. Come to think of it, is also reminds me of something else.

Looking back over my comments, it appears that legos create a serious lack of socializing skills and could result in some other, less-savory personality faults. I highly suggest you take the legos away from your children by age 10.
